First Line of Defence - Fire Equipment Installation & Servicing Course

If you have fire extinguishers or fire equipment in a remote location and are looking to reduce your servicing & installation costs then this course is aimed directly at you.

Our First Line of Defence fire equipment installation & servicing training course is based on AS1851:2005 and AS2444:2001 and is designed to take 1 to 5 members of your staff that are suited for a servicing role and teach them the standards and basics involved in fire equipment installation & servicing. The training is both theoretical and hands on and is performed by our experienced instructors.

The fire equipment installation & servicing training courses last for around 4 hours. The following list contains highlights from the training course:-

  • Introduction to AS1851:2012 – Maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment
  • Introduction to AS2444:2001 - Selection and location of portable fire equipment.
  • Overview of fire equipment selection and installation
  • Servicing of fire extinguishers

  • Servicing of fire hose reels
  • Servicing of fire hydrants
  • Colour coding – understanding
  • Fire ratings – understanding
  • Classes of fire
  • Maintenancetags – how to understand and use
  • Recharging – theory
  • Pressure testing and frequency of testing
  • Maintenance Record Keeping

On completion of the training course, attendees will receive the following:-

As each trainee is presented with a certificate of competence following successful completion of the fire equipment installation & servicing training course, the trainee’s names are required prior to the course.  Certificates can then be issued immediately; otherwise certificates will be posted to your company at no additional cost, but will incur several days delay.
