This high quality 2kg CO2 (carbon dioxide) fire extinguisher is supplied with a wall bracket, a fire extinguisher location sign, and a CO2 fire extinguisher identification sign. The fire extinguisher features a fixed horn type nozzle instead of a hose to keep the unit compact.
When to use:-
Class B fires – Flammable and combustible liquids
Class E fires – Electrically energised equipment
Where to use:-
The 2kg CO2 fire extinguisher is primarily used for electrically energised equipment fires but is safe for flammable and combustible liquid fires. CO2 is a clean extinguishing agent that does not leave a residue and is therefore ideal for use in sensitive equipment areas such as server rooms, laboratories and office areas with a high density of computers. The fire extinguisher works by displacing the oxygen from the fire and cooling.
This 2kg CO2 fire extinguisher can also be used in conjunction with plain air / water fire extinguishers to cover an office environment.
Where not to use:-
The 2kg CO2 fire extinguisher can reduce oxygen in very enclosed areas, leading to breathing problems. The extinguishing agent is very cold when deployed so may cause thermal shock and damage in some instances. It can also cause frostbite if discharged at a person.
The effectiveness of this fire extinguisher is also reduced in areas that have air moving freely through them.
